HealthLink Plus Site is among “Best of the Web”

The Public Library of Charlotte & Mecklenburg County is one of two public libraries to receive the 2003 netConnect/Web Feet Best of the Web award. The library’s health-information Web site, “HealthLink Plus” (www.healthlinkplus.org) was honored in the health-information category, and the library received a $1,000 grant from Web Feet.

The award is jointly sponsored by two library trade magazines, Library Journal and School Library Journal, and Web Feet (www.webfeetguides.com), publisher of subject guides to the Internet. Criteria for selection included usability, accessibility, clarity of design, range of resources, ranges of services and community impact.

“The winners prove that libraries are fully using the World Wide Web to serve their users better,” according to a press release announcing the award recipients.
