PLCMC Manual Removal

Removing the PLCMC Search Plugin is easy and only requires a few steps. To uninstall you will need to know how to browse your computer.

To remove the PLCMC plugin, you will need to delete two files on your computer: plcmccatalog.src and plcmccatalog.png.

  • Make sure to close the Firefox internet browser

  • Use your computer's file search tool to find these two files and delete them

    OR

Locate and delete the files in the searchplugins folder for Firefox on your computer. Usually the searchplugins folder is in the same directory as your Firefox browser, for example:
    C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\
In newer versions of Firefox, the searchplugins may be located in the user profiles, for example:
    C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xscv43m8.default
  • After deleting the files, restart the Firefox internet browser and the plugin will be gone

The Mozilla Web site provides additional tools for removing search engine plugins. Visit the Firefox Add-Ons page for more details.
