The Library offers free services to the Spanish speaking community and those institutions and people interested in working with the Latino population of Charlotte.

Services
- Storytimes for children ages 0 - 5
Children will be exposed to theatrical activities, music and bilingual storytelling.
- It’s A Small World
A Story time for school-age children. Children will be exposed to drama activities, music and bilingual storytelling. This is for children that do not speak English as their first language.
- Connections that Count
A storytime for children ages Birth to 5 years. Children will be exposed to books, age-appropriate activities, music and bilingual storytelling in order to prepare them for school.
- Amigos
A free tutoring program for school-age children, High school students offer weekly tutorial sessions for children that need homework help in the library branches of
South County Regional, Independence Regional, North County Regional and Mountain Island.
- Spanish Collection
A collection of books, encyclopedias, cassettes, CDs, DVDs, and videos are available in such branches as Scaleybark, Plaza Midwood, West Boulevard, Independence Regional and North County Regional,Sugar Creek,Steele Creek,University City Regional.
- Amigos
a group of high school students, offers weekly tutorial sessions in the library branches of Scaleybark, Plaza Midwood, Independence Regional, North County Regional and Mountain Island.
- Computer Classes
Two hour weekly computer sessions in such programs as: Introduction to computers, Microsoft Word and the Internet.
- Library Tours
Spanish Guided tours of the Library's facilities and various PLCMC informative materials in Spanish in Spanish are also available.
- StoryPlace
Visit the Library’s award winning story web site for kids at www.storyplace.org to engage in interactive stories and activities for children of all ages in Spanish and English.
- Día de los Niños
Día, founded in 1996 by author Pat Mora, is a daily commitment to link all children to books, languages and cultures. The Public Library of Charlotte received the 2008 Mora Award . Visit www.patmora.com/dia.htm for more details.
