A Good Day

Category: Books & Babies, Read Aloud (This book has outstanding illustrations)
|
Sometimes even the animals have a bad
day. Squirrels lose their nuts, birds
lose their feathers and foxes can't
find
their mothers. But all it takes is a
little luck to turn it all around. All
it takes is a little luck, love and
hope. The book's bold, colorful
illustrations will delight the very
young.

How Do You Make a Baby Smile?
Philemon Sturges (2007) , under 40 pages
Illustrated by Bridget Strevens-Marzo
Audience: Babies, Toddlers, Preschool
Category: Books & Babies, Read Aloud
|
This is an engaging book for young
children and mostly features baby
animals with their mother or father.
The text rhymes and includes questions
like "How do you make a baby smile?"
and "How do you make a baby laugh?".
The large, colorful illustrations take
up two pages and show smiling animals
in a variety of settings. The book
seems to invite children to move or
make noises along with the animals. The
warm ending makes this a perfect
bedtime story.

Audience: Babies, Toddlers, Preschool
Category: Read Aloud

All the animals on the farm are in a
hurry! But, where are they going?
Follow the clucking hen, leaping goat,
quacking ducks, honking geese, spotted
cows and other barnyard residents as
they rush to the barn. Here, they
gather to welcome a new member to the
farm. Vivid, beautiful acrylic
illustrations and simple text make this
a favorite book to read again and again
to little ones.
