Gilbert likes Valentine's Day and he enjoys writing the poems for the valentine cards for all his classmates. He writes a nice poem for Patty who has smiley eyes and for Frank who once shared his baseball mitt with Gilbert. But when he gets to the cards for Lewis and Margaret, Gilbert can not think of nice poems at all. All he can think of are the mean things that Lewis and Margaret have done in past. Will Gilbert come up with nice poems or will he play a trick on Lewis and Margaret instead? Read this funny book to find out.

I love all of Diane De Groats books but this is the first one I read. It is so funny! It also helps everyone remember that it is important to be kind to everyone, even if they haven't been very kind to you. Sometimes I cry when I read her books because I laugh so hard.
