Cork and Fuzz: Short and Tall
Dori Chaconas (2006) , under 40 pages
Illustrated by Lisa McCue
Audience: Primary (k-3rd grade)
Category: Beg. Chapter Books, Humor (This book has outstanding illustrations)

Cork, a muskrat, and Fuzz, a possum,
are friends. Then Cork decides: "I am
older than you. I need to be taller.
It
is a rule". The hilarious pictures
illustrate how they try to solve this
problem. One suggestion from Cork to
Fuzz is for him to stop eating so he
can stop growing. And in the mean time
he asks him to walk on his knees so he
will appear shorter. Will
they be able to remain
friends even though they are
different?
Their problem is a universal one and
their solution will touch your heart.

Dori, age 0 from Wisconsin To Megan and Zoe,
I'm so glad you enjoyed my book! Cork and Fuzz say "Hi!" (Actually, Cork says "Hi," and Fuzz says "Ih," which is "Hi" backwards.)
Keep enjoying books!
