Ted Hammond is the only sixth-grader in Plattsford, Nebraska. Ted loves mysteries both in books and in real life. He thinks of himself as a detective and looks at everything as a mystery. Will his school, The Red Prairie Learning Center, have to close? What will happen to Plattsford if more people move? But, the biggest mystery of all is, who was looking out the window from the Anderson's empty farmhouse? The Andersons moved away two years ago! Ted searches for clues to solve the mystery and in the process learns about trust and friendship.
