Read to Me, Charlotte! is a community-wide initiative coordinated by the Public Library of Charlotte & Mecklenburg County. Read to Me, Charlotte! seeks to provide encouragement, tools and knowledge to promote daily reading with children from birth to five.
RECENT NEWS
Do you have new or gently used children's books in your home collecting dust? Then donate them to Read to Me, Charlotte! We will be redistributing them in the community at sites that serve low-income families.
“Thank you to Joseph-Beth Booksellers, Earth Fare, Dowd YMCA, Black Forest Books, JPMorgan Chase, Sherwin-Williams, and Department of Social Services’ Community Engagement Office for donating books, hosting book drives, or donating material to the Read to Me, Charlotte Bookshelves Project. To date, 400 plus books have been donated enabling us to stock four shelves to date.”
