¡Cinco de Mayo, Viva Mexico!
Cinco de Mayo – the fifth of May – commemorates the Mexican victory over the invading French forces of Napoleon III at The Battle of Puebla in 1862. It has, however, come to be a general celebration of Mexican, and Mexican-American, culture. Mexico is a diverse land rich in history and culture, immigrants from which add a wonderful dimension to life here in the United States. Reader’s Club joins in this celebration and invites you to learn about, and enjoy the wonders of, our neighbor to the south. Put some Santana on the stereo and kick back with a good book!
