Goldy is convinced her business will stay closed unless she does some detective work to find the culprit that sabotaged the coffee. Along the way we are introduced to many unique characters including Goldy’s mean-spirited ex-husband and her best friend who just happens to be another ex-wife. The tantalizing recipes add spice to the unfolding mystery.

This novel, packed with laughs offset by poignant satirical moments, is great entertainment!

Here lies a collection of 14 stories dealing mostly with death: dying, killing, being dead, or having people think you’re dead. Though the subject matter is rather grim, Stephen King writes in an easy, matter of fact tone that sheds the light of humanity on the darkest of tales. The reader can relate to the main characters in one way or another, leaving you to wonder if this could happen to you someday! The author also inserts an interesting introduction before each story describing its evolution. This is a great book for those who love to read and reluctant readers alike.

Sure, being a witch sounds like it would be wonderful, and for the most part it is, but there are days when you just can’t conjure up everything you need. Bronwyn seems to be having one of those days (weeks, months?). She loves her job, the new house she just recently moved to, and seems to have men falling all over her. Just one small problem, she has never had any luck with love and can’t seem to trust herself in that department, especially when her new client won’t take no for an answer. As Bronwyn records her exciting life as bodyguard to the British Prime Minister in her journal, we glimpse various uses of power and the risks she’s willing to take for love.

This is a great story told by my favorite storyteller, Nicholas Sparks. Logan Thibault, in his third tour of Iraq with the U.S. Marines, finds a photograph buried in the Iraqi desert of a young woman. He doesn't think too much of it until a fellow marine suggests it may be the photograph that helped him survive 11 different attacks in Iraq. After he returns home, he sets out on a cross country journey to find the woman in the photograph, believing that somehow she may hold the key to his destiny. This story is filled with romance and suspense, and a surprise ending that I think any Nicholas Sparks fan will enjoy.
