Graphic novels are not comic books. They just happen to tell a story with the accompaniment of, often, impressive illustrations. Some graphic novels center around the superheroes we have all heard of, but many do not. From stand-alone titles to Neil Gaiman’s Sandman series or the Bone series, graphic novels offer something for all age groups and all interests. If you’ve never read a graphic novel, check out some of our recommended titles.
During February PLCMC & Reader's Club celebrate reading with Pass It On! If you find a book in the Charlotte Metro area with a Pass It On! label on the front cover, you are eligible to enter a drawing for some great prizes from local merchants, including a Cultural Connections grand prize. The versatile Neil Gaiman is a top writer of modern comics, an award winning novelist (American Gods), as well as an author of children’s books. He has also authored the popular Sandman graphic novels, including the latest in the series, Endless Nights.
