On cool December evenings, a great way to escape from the hustle-bustle of the holidays is by curling up on the couch and watching a good movie. And, of course, some of the best movies are adapted from even better books. This month our feature will help you find some first-rate books that have been made into motion pictures. This winter, why not turn off the television, grab some hot cocoa, and curl up with one of these

Barbara Delinsky earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Tufts University and a Master of Arts in Sociology from Boston College. Ms. Delinsky became a writer by fluke. Her twins were four when, by chance, she happened on a newspaper article profiling three female writers. Intrigued, she spent three months researching, plotting, and writing her own book - and it sold. That was in 1980. She has written over 70 novels. After starting out in the field of romance, she moved into mainstream fiction. Her latest novel is The Summer I Dared .
