Reader's Club salutes Linda, an avid reader and frequent reviewer. Linda has reviewed a variety of fiction titles for Reader's Club. Here is what she has to share with us:
One of the first books I remember reading was Ann Likes Red. It was part of a set of books my mom had gotten to help me learn to read. Once I started reading, the sky was the limit. I grew up reading stuff like Nancy Drew, The Hardy Boys, and the Little House on the Prairie books. I always carried a book in my purse in Junior High and High School. My friends in High School introduced me to Fantasy and Science Fiction as well as Romance novels. That may explain why I tend to read in phases these days. Right now I am on a Chick Lit phase, but I will probably be picking up some Fantasy in the near future as one of my favorite authors has a book that just came out. I don’t read a lot of non-fiction as I read to escape for the most part. Some of my favorite authors right now are Lori Foster, Laurell K. Hamilton, Eoin Colfer, Diane Mott Davidson, Orson Scott Card, Candace Havens and Donna Kauffman.
I write reviews of books that I enjoyed in the hopes that someone else will enjoy them as much if not more than I did. Maybe it will open someone’s eyes to an author they never would have read previously. Reviews have done that for me in the past.
