Reader’s Club honors Vivian who works at University City Regional Library. She is a voracious reader and has reviewed several African American novels and biographies for Reader’s Club. Here are her thoughts on reading and writing reviews:
“I have always enjoyed reading and writing. As a child, I would spend hours buried in one of my favorite stories imagining that I was the main character. I loved to create worlds in my mind and imagine what I would do in those worlds.
I must admit that I enjoy reading books that reflect my life in some sort of way; mainly, African American Fiction and Biographies. However, I do enjoy reading young adult fiction as well. As an adult, I still fantasize and imagine what I would do if I was the main character in the story. In college, I found that I enjoyed writing research papers when everyone else loathed them! By writing, I find that I am better able to express my viewpoints and give a synopsis of the story than if I verbally tell the story.
I usually review every book that I read if it has not already been reviewed. I love to share good stories with everyone and writing reviews for Reader’s Club allows me to do so!”
Thanks, Vivian!
