Reviewer Spotlight

Branch: Sugar Creek

Reader's Club honors Laura Burkett, a librarian at Sugar Creek Branch Library. She is an enthusiastic reader and a reviewer of several entertaining non-fiction books for adults. Here is what she has to share with us:

"I have loved to read for as long as I can remember! Some of my first memories are of my mom reading to me. She spent countless hours with my sister and me in our tiny hometown library. The librarian, Mrs. Amy, always patiently helped me find something good to read. My high school English teacher also inspired a love of literature. While I read an enormous amount of fiction as a child and young adult, the past few years have found me reading mostly non-fiction and graphic novels. I started reading non-fiction when I began working in reference. One of my responsibilities was to check in all the new non-fiction books. So many of the books struck my interest that they never made it to the shelves!"
