Jacques, Brian(1986)
Redwall
Young Adult

Mathias, a novice in the order of Redwall, aspires to be as brave as Martin the Warrior, an ancient protector of Redwall Abbey. However, Redwall is an order of peace, charged with healing the sick and nurturing the impoverished. The mice vow never to harm another creature unless under enemy attack. When Cluny the Scourge, a warlord rat, sets his sights on conquering Redwall, the brothers must defend the Abbey and the woodland creatures in their care. Determined to defend Redwall, Mathias sets out on a quest to recover Martin's sword and shield. An epic novel of good and evil, Redwall is also a story filled with humor, adventure, and exciting action.

Reader's comments about this book

This is an exellent book with adventure, revenge and determination. It's a long book, but it is not to hard to read. Once you start reading it you won't be able to stop. At night your parents are going to stop you from reading. I read it a while ago and right when I finished it, I asked my dad to take me to the bookstore and buy me the sequal (Mossflower.) I recomend it for fantasy book lovers.

It was amazing! I couldn't put it down! After you finish it, You must read Mossflower right after it! It's even great for kids who have already read other books in the series. You don't have to read it first, but you should.
