Evanovich, Janet(1994) One for the Money
I love to read! I enjoy mostly humorous fiction, as a change from my working world of news. Two authors I've enjoyed recently include Janet Evanovich and Carl Hiaasen. I've read everything they've written! Pick up any of Janet Evanovich's mysteries - starting with One for the Money, and most recently Hot Eight - and you'll meet a witty, brave young private detective who stumbles onto the solutions of mysteries (quite literally), destroys cars at breakneck speed, has a macabre grandmother who enjoys viewings at the local nursing home, and a hilarious love life. They're fun. Carl Hiaasen's had a couple books turned into movies which, I confess, I have not seen. My favorite book of his is Lucky You - interesting, funny characters involved in a fight over the Florida lottery. It pokes fun at the personality extremes in Florida. Hiaasen is a columnist for the Miami Herald, and bases much of his humor on those wacky people that make front page news. Once you read that one, you'll tear through the rest!!

Reader's comments about this book
The first of many outrageously hilarious books, One for the Money is not to be missed! It's one of the very few books (most of which are from Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series) that caused me to laugh coffee out of my nose.
